We recommend renting a car at the airport for the quickest and most convenient journey to the lodge. Not only is it the easiest option, but the drive itself offers breathtaking scenery along the way. If you prefer alternative travel options, you’ll find more details below:
Nearest Airports:
1. Bardufoss Airport (Only direct flights from Oslo with Norwegian Airlines.)
- Distance: 1h 40min drive (no ferries).
- Airport Shuttle: There is a bus that runs from Bardufoss to Finnsnes on every flight arrival (1h drive from Finnsnes to the lodge). Alternative: Take a taxi if needed.
2. Tromsø Airport (Many international flights).
- Distance: 2h drive (including 1 ferry).
- Ferry Info: You’ll drive to the “Brensholmen” ferry stop (1h drive from Tromsø), then take the ferry to “Botnhamn” (Senja side).
- Important: Check ferry schedules before you go, as weather in the Arctic can affect ferry times, here: https://svipper.no/?sprak=3
- No Ferry Option: You can drive directly from Tromsø to Finnsnes city, then to the lodge without taking the ferry.
3. Harstad/Narvik (Evenes) Airport (Near Lofoten).
- Distance: 3h30min drive (no ferries).
- Car Rentals: Available at airport, please pre-book.
By Boat:
1. Express Boat from Tromsø to Lysnes (Senja).
- Duration: 43 minutes.
- Schedule: Runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday only.

- From Lysnes to the Lodge: The lodge is a 20-minute drive from Lysnes. The nearest stop is "Fjordgård." For limited bus options, visit https://svipper.no/?sprak=3

2. Express Boat from Tromsø to Finnsnes.
- Duration: 1 hour.
- Schedule: Runs daily.

By Bus:

There is not a restaurant at the lodge, but we got a fully equipped kitchen available for all guests to use.
There is several different options for coffee: a coffee maker, press-jug, chemex and a coffee grinder.200m from the lodge (same street) there is a local grocery called Snarkjøp. Its self service and open 24/7.
There is also a small restaurant in the village called Segla Grill, serving fast food such as hamburgers, fish n chips etc. They have limited opening hours, specially in winter (somedays closed, somedays open from 5-7pm). -

The Northern Lights is visible in Senja from late August to early April.
